A full Police Authority meeting is attended by all the members of the Authority, members of the senior officer team, often the Chief Constable, and Police Authority officers. These meetings are designed to ensure the maintenance of an efficient and effective police force for the area, with appropriate governance.
Members of the public may ask questions at the start of these meetings. If you would like to ask a question, please inform the Police Authority Office at least five days before the meeting.
- Community Engagement & Partnerships Committee

The role of this committee is to provide effective dialogue with the people who live, work and visit Nottinghamshire in order to improve public confidence in both the Force and the Authority. In addition, the committee will enhance the Authority’s role in partnership working whilst ensuring effective partnership structures within the Force.

- HR & Professional Standards Committee
- Chair - Cllr Mike Quiqley
This committee ensures the adequacy of the Force’s human resource strategies, policies and practices including health & safety, grievances and appeals. In addition, the committee oversees compliance with equality, diversity and human rights requirements of both the Force and Authority. It also scrutinises the nature of complaints and the manner in which they are handled by the Authority and Force. This committee is also responsible for the recruitment and conduct of ACPO ranked officers.

- Finance & Business Committee

The role of this committee is to ensure that both the Authority and Force have appropriate corporate governance structures and risk management strategies. In addition it scrutinises the financial management and IT strategy of the Authority and Force to secure value for money. This committee is responsible for developing and monitoring a value for money framework for the Force. The Chairs of the other committees are members of this committee as it is responsible for the Authority’s risk management register.

- Performance & Policing Committee
- Chair - Independent member Simon Holdaway
The role of this committee is to ensure the development of a comprehensive performance framework for the Force as well as checking the adequacy of strategies for the Authority and the Police Service, including policies and practices with regard to local and strategic policing issues. This committee has responsibility for the development of regional collaboration. It is also responsible for co-ordinating the annual Policing Plan and monitoring the policing pledge.

Three Independent Lay Members from outside the Authority are appointed to this Committee to help increase public confidence, provide a clear signal that the Committee is fair and bring a wider perspective from their outside experiences

In addition, there a number of project boards for specific tasks, where members work alongside the police force to monitor and help with the development process.
